Homeschool Day at The Breman

Wednesday April 22, 2015: The Breman Museum Homeschool Day

10:30 am – 11:30 am: Guided Tour of Where the Wild Things Are: Maurice Sendak in His Own Words and Pictures exhibition
11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Guided Tour of Absence of Humanity: The Holocaust Years exhibition for those ages 10 and up
11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Viewing of the film, “Really Rosie” and a fun art activity

12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Lunch for those who have RSVP’d – Please RSVP at least two weeks in advance

Admission to Homeschool School Day at The Breman is $7 for adults and $5 for students/children (ages 3-18), and must be paid upon entrance to the museum.

The Breman Museum is located in the Selig Center, which is a Kosher-only Facility. No outside food or drink is allowed in the building.

Lunch is only available for groups consisting of six or more guests. Reservations for lunch must be made no later than two weeks before the event date. A booking fee of $12 per person for a minimum total of $72 is required upon booking. Upon arrival, the $12 per person booking fee will be applied, per person, toward their lunch total.

  1. Chicken Soup with Rice: Chicken Soup with Rice; Roll; Green Garden Salad with Julienne carrots, cucumber strips, cherry tomatoes and purple cabbage with a sweet vinaigrette; Herb and Garlic Roasted Yukon Potato Wedges; Cookie; Coffee and Iced Beverages
    Price is per person - $18 for Breman Museum Members/$25 for Breman Museum Non-Members
  2. Brunch: Biscuit Sandwich with an egg white omelet, cheese and spinach; Brunch Potatoes Hash; Fresh Fruit Salad; Coffee or Hot Tea Service with Fresh Regular Cream and sugars
    Price is per person - $18 for Breman Museum Members/$25 for Breman Museum Non-Members
  3. PB&J Sandwich: Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich; Lays Potato Chips; Fruit Salad; Cookie
    Price is per person - $12 for Breman Museum Members/$18 for Breman Museum Non-Members

If your actual number of guests exceeds the reservation number, the additional guests will be charged the full meal price at the time of entrance. The booking fee is non-refundable.

      Historic Jewish Atlanta Tour- Oakland Cemetery

      Plunge into the history of Jewish Atlanta as we explore Historic Oakland Cemetery. Amidst Victorian gardens and marble and granite sculptures, we will walk through the history, burial customs, and symbolism found throughout the Jewish grounds of this powerful city landmark. Founded in 1850, Oakland Cemetery is the final resting place for more than 70,000 people, including many of Atlanta’s most notable citizens. It is also home to three separate Jewish burial sections – including the second oldest Jewish burial ground in Georgia. Come enjoy a stroll around one of Atlanta’s most beautiful public parks, while we discuss some fascinating stories of the individual lives and religious organizations that enabled the city’s Jewish community to persist and flourish.
