A daring Israeli underwater photographer, Amos Nachoum, prepares for his greatest challenge yet in this extraordinary true-life adventure.

Following the screening will be a conversation with Leesa Cater-Jones, CEO Captain Planet Foundation and Jason D. Evans, journalist, film critic, and AJFF board member.

Jason Evans has been a CNN journalist for more than three decades with a focus on politics, international news, entertainment, science, and the environment. In addition to his work for CNN, he has been a longtime film critic and commentator on the entertainment industry for The Wall Street Journal, CNN.com, PBS, and other local and national outlets. 

He makes regular appearances talking about movies for WZGC-FM. His film reviews can be read weekly on Flixchat and he is currently one of the co-hosts of the Movie Joust podcast. Evans is also a longtime supporter of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, serving on its Board of Directors and as co-chair of the Festival’s Film Evaluation Committee.

Leesa Carter-Jones (she/her) joined CPF in 2012 and has led the organization’s successful launch of the Project Learning Garden, Planeteer Alliance, Green Heart STEM Challenge for Environmental Justice, Project Hero, EcoSTEM Resource Kits; and helped lead CPF in co-founding the Ocean Heroes Bootcamp & Network.

Leesa has a BA in Communications from Wake Forest University where she graduated with honors and served as Captain of the Women’s Basketball Team. She has over 30 years of executive-level experience in industries such as: environment, organic products, green building, and non-profit arts management. Prior to joining CPF, Leesa served as Executive Director for the U.S. Green Building Council – Georgia Chapter as a leading advocate and educator for sustainable communities, green jobs and green building. She graduated with the 2012 Class of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership.

Leesa is a recognized and respected speaker in the fields of sustainability, environmental stewardship, and youth education programs; and serves on the Board of the Minnesota Colorectal Cancer Research Foundation. She has been a Judge for FIRST Robotics Global Innovation Award, the Environmental City Pitch for the Mayor’s Fund of London, Georgia Green Ribbon Schools, and with the USGBC Center for Green Schools.
