Day of Event Schedule for Grandparents Day at The Breman

Noon – 2:30 PM

PJ Library Storytelling Session Kicks off the afternoon with a captivating storytelling session hosted by PJ Library. Children and their grandparents will gather to listen to enchanting tales that spark imagination and foster a love for reading. The stories will be tailored for children aged 2 and older, ensuring an engaging and age-appropriate experience for all attendees.

12:30 – 1:30 The Center for Puppetry Arts will provide entertaining puppeteers and their puppets

Fun Activities for Kids and Grandparents Following the storytelling and puppets, families will be invited to participate in a variety of fun and interactive activities designed to create cherished memories. Activities could include:

• Craft Corner: Create your own puppet or storybook character using a variety of craft materials.

• Story-Making Workshop: Collaborate with grandparents to create your own family story. Use prompts and props to inspire creativity.

• Games and Puzzles: Enjoy scavenger hunts through the exhibitions – win prizes – grandparents and kids can enjoy together, promoting teamwork and bonding.

• Enjoy light refreshments and mingle with other attendees before heading home or across the street to the Center for Puppetry Arts with new memories and keepsakes from the day’s activities.

2:30 – For those interested in attending the show at 3PM at the Center for Puppetry Arts, there will be a preshow enrichment activity that takes place about 30 minutes before showtime.

There will be a 1 PM and 3:00 PM Performance (Discounted Tickets available for Breman & PJ Library Members) – of Owl at Home Performance at The Center for Puppetry Arts The day will culminate with a delightful puppet show, “Owl at Home,” performed by The Center for Puppetry Arts. This charming performance, based on the beloved book by Arnold Lobel, will captivate young audiences and their grandparents alike with its whimsical puppetry and heartwarming storytelling. The show is perfectly suited for children aged 6 and younger, ensuring a magical end to the day’s festivities.

This special Grandparents Day event is designed to bring families with young children together through the joy of stories, creative activities, and the magic of puppetry. We look forward to seeing you there!
