October Seventh: A Space of Anguish, Loss, Anger, Memory, and Sorrow through December 31

The Breman, as part of its Breman on the Road series, is co-presenting ANU – Museum of the Jewish People’s exhibition, October Seventh: A Space of Anguish, Loss, Anger, Memory, and Sorrow, at Temple Sinai. This free exhibition, co-hosted with Temple Sinai, runs through December 31 and is located at 5645 Dupree Drive NW, Sandy Springs, with viewing hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Originally launched at ANU – Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv in February, October Seventh brings together work by 25 artists offering a powerful and personal look at the ongoing realities faced by those impacted by the tragic events of October 7, 2023. Many artists in this collection continue to create amid devastation; some were lost in the attacks, and many had families and homes affected by the violence. The artwork reflects both individual stories and a collective response to tragedy.

Among the artists featured are Yonatan Hatzor, Roee Idan, Eviatar Kipnis, and Heiman, all of whom lost their lives either in the attacks or the subsequent Israel-Hamas conflict. A poignant piece, Pavement and Mud, by Ziva Jelin, captures the landscape of Kibbutz Be’eri in dripping shades of red, evoking an image of a bleeding landscape—an eerie precursor to the attack that decimated the kibbutz.

Breman on the Road is an outreach series by The Breman, dedicated to sharing Jewish culture with diverse audiences. Through exhibitions like this, The Breman extends its mission beyond its doors, bringing meaningful cultural experiences to Atlanta and beyond.
