The Breman welcomes volunteers who are passionate about connecting people to Jewish history, culture, and the arts. Our Volunteers are an important part of the Breman’s operations and programs.

Become a Docent for the Absence of Humanity: The Holocaust Years 1933 – 1945  Exhibition

The Docent Training Course will be held August 4th – 25th, Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

Volunteer Opportunities:

Program Volunteers

Program Volunteers help with our wide variety of programming.

  • Greet guests at the door
  • Check in guests at the registration table
  • Help set up before events and clean up after

The majority of programming is scheduled on Sundays

Docents lead guided tours of our exhibitions.

  • Lead tours of the Absence of Humanity: The Holocaust Years 1933-1945 Exhibition for the Weinberg Center for Holocaust Education.
    • Lead tours of the exhibition for K-12 groups, college groups, adult groups, and senior groups
    • Tours are scheduled on weekdays 10:00 am – 12:30 pm and Sundays

  • Lead tours of the History with Chutzpah: The Southern Jewish Experience Exhibition
    • Training required

Holocaust Survivor Speakers give presentations about their personal and family Holocaust experiences.

  • First-generation and second-generation survivors give speeches to K-12 groups, college groups, and adult groups

Archival Volunteers assist the Cuba Family Archives in conducting oral histories.

  • Conduct Oral Histories

Holiday Closures

We are closing the 8th and 9th of April in observance of Passover.

Bearing Witness and Storm Closure

We will be rescheduling our Bearing Witness to a later date due to the upcoming Winter Storm. The museum will be closed on Sunday, January 25th. Thank you for your understanding and check back here for an update for Bearing Witness in the future.
